📚 open for book club deets

Hi Reader,

So excited to hear that many of you are interested in joining my upcoming online book club. I love knowing that you're interested in un/learning - and cultivating a community of like-minded teachers.

We launch Monday, September 15th with email #1 landing in your inbox.

Note: September 15th also happens to be my 40th birthday that day. This milestone has me feeling lots of things - one of them includes leaning in and taking up a bit more f'ing space. So launching my first online book club seems like a good fit.

We're reading Judith Lasater's Yoga Myths. Together we'll explore common cues or sequencing techniques we're probably all saying and doing - and reflect on whether they actually carry any weight to our practice and teaching.

In 12 weeks, you'll walk away with new perspectives and cues for:

  • neck stretches
  • triangle and revolved triangle
  • extended side angle
  • bow
  • camel
  • seated twist
  • head-to-knee (janusirsasana)
  • downward dog
  • plank and side plank
  • tree
  • boat
  • wide legged forward fold
  • shoulder stand
  • forearm stand
  • 1/2 handstand at the wall
  • supported headstand

...and more.

Regardless of your tradition, how you were trained, what style you teach, we're here to learn and unlearn together. There's no one right way here, friends. We're here to co-create this space and expand our craft as yoga teachers.

what does the book club entail?

I designed it for us busy people.

  • 1 Chapter/week- Take time to slow down and explore the ideas in each chapter. And if you miss a week, there's plenty of time to catch up.
  • Weekly emails - I'll send you an email every Monday with a video + prompts to spark your curiosity and creativity related to the chapter we're reading that week. No hoops, no logging into another platform, just a weekly email.
  • Monthly online community calls - We'll meet online via Zoom every 4 weeks. This will be a time for us to connect live - and I'll record the session for those who can't make it. Zoom Dates: Fridays 10/10, 11/7, and 12/5 at 10am eastern.

If you're a yoga teacher needing CEUs, this experience offers 10 CEUs for Yoga Alliance upon completion. I'll follow up before week 1 on how to log your hours.

registration details

  • Investment is $39/month for 3 months. Register and then pat yourself on the back - this is going to be fun.
  • Your registration payment does not include the purchase of the text. Purchase your copy of Lasater's book using any retailer of choice. There are plenty of used copies available, but you do you.

That's it, y'all! I'm so excited for this. If you have any questions, just hit reply and send them my way. I cannot wait to connect with you.

yoga for yoga teachers

We all know that our practice changes as soon as we start teaching. It can be hard to get lost in your practice without constantly thinking of what you might teach next, what you should do, or whether others in the room are looking at you to be the good student.

Once a month, I host a class just for yoga teachers. It's a time to get on your mat and re-connect with your practice - in a studio space that you don't teach in surrounded by the energy of other teachers who are also diving into their own practice.

These are free. Reserve your spot.

  • Thursday Sept 25th @ 7pm
  • Sunday Oct 12th @ 6:30pm

Instagram's algorithm is bananas - and I have no intention of keeping up with the do's and don'ts of posting. I recently shared some writing and reflections. Click below to read more - maybe that land with you.
